About Tellart

We design products, services, and environments that address human need and shape human experience. We work between worlds–analogue and digital, visual and physical, yesterday and today and tomorrow–because that is where most people live.

We give culturally relevant form to emerging technologies. We create both graphical and tangible interfaces for web, mobile, and embedded platforms. We invent and build things that connect to the web – social objects that connect people, physical installations driven by live web data, online interfaces for controlling the built environment.

Over the course of a decade Tellart has developed a method of working closely with clients during the innovation process. We facilitate research, understanding, ideation, decision-making and consensus building through the use of participatory design, visual diagrams, clear communication, and hardware/software sketching tools. Our Sketch Tools suite of physical computing toolkits allows us to partner with technical novices and experts alike to work quickly, fluidly and hands-on with the materials of ubiquitous computing–sensors, electrical appliances, touch displays, wireless networks and all kinds of digital media.

Our work with clients often begins with collaborative innovation workshops where we direct ideation, sketching and hands-on prototyping sessions. Our clients are not required to approach us with detailed briefs for projects; we work closely with them to discover and shape opportunities for design and technology. Grounded in a deep understanding of our clients’ goals and their customers’ needs, our product/service design projects are delivered in forms ranging from “design fiction” films that envision future scenarios, to working prototypes ready for testing in the field, to specifications for manufacture.
